Troy Dannen is an American college athletics administrator who is currently the athletic director of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He was previously the athletic director at the University of Washington, Tulane University, and the University of Northern Iowa.[1]

Career[edit]

From 2008-2015, Dannen was the athletic director of the Northern Iowa Panthers of the University of Northern Iowa.[2]

During Dannen's time at Tulane from 2015-2023, Green Wave athletic teams had 49 All-Americans and 21 conference champions, and also made 41 postseason appearances. The football team, coached by Dannen hire Willie Fritz, won the Cotton Bowl over the University of Southern California in January 2023.[1]

In October 2023, Dannen was hired to be the athletic director for the University of Washington Huskies.[2] In March 2024, in a surprise move, Dannen was hired to be the athletic director for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Cornhuskers.[3]

Dannen has served on various NCAA committees including the Division I Transformation Committee and the Football Oversight Committee.
