My introduction to editing in the Wikimedia universe was my library school practicum, for which I worked with Archiverlandson on the PCC Wikidata Pilot project.
My undergraduate degree is in Electrical Engineering. Prior to becoming a librarian, my day job for many years was software engineer.
I am a native AmE speaker. I understand enough written and spoken Latin American Spanish to get the gist of what a paragraph or conversation is about, but I can produce only basic sentences. Likewise, written Latin. I have a smattering of German and Dutch words, enough to read a map and navigate my way around a German- or Dutch-speaking city transit system, but not enough to read or write a whole paragraph. I understand a handful of 19th century Dano-Norwegian words, enough to get genealogical information from a census or church register.
