Awaken The Tide (Band)

Awaken The Tide are a US American metalcore band from Hemett, California, formed in October 2010. The band is currently busy working on the release of their first EP Day of the Lion. A number of songs from that EP can already be admired from their BandPage on Facebook.

History[edit]

Formation[edit]

Andee (stage name Judge) and Zeus met in high school in 2003 and they have been writing songs and performing together since that moment. While in the US Marine Corps, Judge met Cory Etter, who would be the first drummer of the soon to be formed Awaken The Tide. Both met Emile (stage name Emile Duncan) at an August Burns Red concert.

In those days Andee was also playing in a pop punk band called Darling You're Stunning, where he met guitarist Chris James. With this latest find, and with Zeus moving out from Rhode Island the five original members of Awaken The Tide were finally together and in October 2010 the band was formed with this line-up:

Andee McMahon (Judge) - guitar / vocals
Chris James - lead guitar
Zeus Creighton (Zeus) - bass
Cory Etter - drums
Emile Diaz de Leon (Emile Duncan) - vocals

Changes in the original line-up[edit]

While Awaken The Tide was in the beginning stages of writing songs, Cory joined Andee and Chris in Darling You're Stunning. They learned quickly that making multiple bands work at the same time with the same set of musicians is very difficult. It lead to Chris James parting ways with Awaken The Tide.

Soon after they began searching for a new guitarist, they found Robert Hunt who would become the new lead guitarist.

In February 2012 Cory had to leave the band for personal reasons. He was replace with a close friend of the remaining band members: Matt Gillmore.

In April 2012 Robert Hunt left the band for a mix of personal reasons and creative differences. He was replaced by Charles Idyk, who had played in the band before.

Working their way to the record label[edit]

During the mayor part of 2011 Awaken The Tide worked their local music scene playing in some big shows with major worldwide touring acts like Bleeding Through, As Blood Runs Back, Upon A Burning body and Stick To Your Guns among others.

In December 2011 the band started a campaign to join the independent record label Enthral Entertainment. [1]

In January of 2012 it was announced that Awaken The Tide indeed were being signed by Enthral Entertainment.

Awaken The Tide is currently in pre-production for their first release under Enthral Entertainment and they have plans for a US West Coast tour and a music video in the coming months.
