What I would do if I were an admin[edit]

Admins have cool tools enabling them to block users, protect and delete pages. I'd do that. I have a few times had a user that I think needs to be blocked, or a page that needs to be protected.

I would also continue to do what I do now, such as vandalism patrol (admins have an easier time of it).

I'd probably also do random other stuff that admins do. Like tell people off for saying "fuck" (fuck off...). And abusing the admin power to fuck around with people I don't like. You know, that sort of thing. Helping people who ask questions, though I am willing to do that now ...

Admins have tools that ordinary users don't. As such, while they do all the above, they have an easier time of it. As well, admins can do other stuff and have to do other stuff. Cleaning out the backlog for page protection, page deletion and similar is an essential admin task.

Why I don't want to be an admin (just now)[edit]

Two main reasons.

  1. Time constraints and the possibility of disappearing again (like I've done in the past).
  2. Ignorance of process and so on. Admins can do bad things, so they should follow the rules. I don't know all the rules. (And this doesn't conflict with my being an anarchist. Due process dude.)
  3. Third one, I'm still learning how to use shit. Like I fucked up originally with this page.

Questions for the candidate[edit]

  1. What admin work, if any, do you intend to take part in?
See above.
  1. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
I think my highlights page at User:AFA/Contribs contains my best stuff. But more specifically, that code edit I did, and some of the pages I created.
  1. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I'm sure I have been. I tend to assume good faith (hehehe) and expect others to do the same. I try and talk things out. If Wikipedia really pisses me off (for whatever reason), I take a break.
  1. If you became an admin, would you still have time to write and improve articles to Featured Article status? How would you balance administration against article writing?
Hehe. I stole this question, it isn't standard. But I don't care. Anyway, they are two different things. Writing articles (or editing them) and vandal patrol are things that I do depending on my mood. So even though I don't have any FAs yet, being an admin would change it.
  1. Under what circumstances should one ignore a rule?
I stole this question too. You should ignore the rules when they should be ignored. When the rules conflict with due process, the correct way of doing things or the project direction. You know, it depends on the circumstances and the individual concerned.
