Walt Lee is an American film historian who compiled the Reference Guide to Fantastic Films, a three-volume set of reference books intended to document basic information for every horror, science-fiction, and fantary film from the 19th century to the time each volume was published.

The Reference Guide to Fantastic Films contains approximately 20,000 titles listed alphabetically. It has been reviewed in many widely-read publications, including the New York Times[2], the Los Angeles Times[3], Cinefantastique, Famous Monsters, and Library Journal[4].

With Richard Delap, Lee is co-author of the science-fiction novel Shapes (1987).[1]

By profession, Lee is a retired industrial filmmaker who worked at Hughes Aircraft from 1955 to 1989.[1]
