Thomas Currie Bell (17 July 1872 - 8 December 1946) was a Scottish painter. He later hyphenated his surname as Currie-Bell.[1]

Life[edit]

His father was John Bell (born c. 1834), a bootmaker from Edinburgh.

His mother was Christina Currie (born c. 1845) from Edinburgh. John and Christina married in St. Giles parish, Edinburgh on 9 June 1863.

Thomas Currie Bell was born on 17 July 1872 at 10 Lonsdale Terrace, Edinburgh.

He married Charlotte Emily Jacobsen (6 March 1874 - 29 August 1919) from Edinburgh, in Morningside, Edinburgh in 1912. Charlotte previously married Marshall Cleland, but they divorced in 1908. She had a child Freda Cleland (1899 - 1974) from her first marriage.

He moved to the United States in 1929.
