Nancy Brackett (née Thomson; 8 June 1907 - 13 November 1984) was a Scottish painter.[1]

Life[edit]

Her father was Thomas Samuel Thomson (27 November 1858 - 24 February 1934). At the time of his marriage he was staying at 9 Manor Place, Edinburgh.[2]

Her mother was Johanna Jessie Dale (27 September 1876 - 22 August 1949), known as Anna; at the time of her marriage was the second surviving daughter of Thomas Dale, Scoughall, North Berwick.[3]

Thomas and Johanna were married on 30 April 1903 at Whitekirk church, East Lothian.[4]

She was born Nancy Alexis Thomson on 8 June 1907 in Edinburgh.

She married the Rev. William Oliver Brackett (5 April 1901 - 26 July 1945) of Westport Presbyterian Church, Kansas City, Missouri, USA on 24 June 1931 in Edinburgh.

Nancy then lived in the United States with her husband but returned to Scotland after his death.

She died on 13 November 1984 in an Edinburgh hospital. Her usual address was 8 Ainslie Place, Edinburgh.

She is buried in Dean Cemetery, Edinburgh.[5]
