Jessie Ramage (c. 1849 - 22 April 1913) was a Scottish painter.

Life[edit]

Her father was the artist James Ramage (1824 - 21 November 1887). Her mother was Margaret McIntosh (1826 - 24 June 1876). James and Margaret married in 1845.

Jessie Ramage was one of their 4 children, born c. 1849.

She married John Brown Abercromby on 19 April 1877 in Edinburgh.

They had 2 sons James Ramage Abercromby (1879 - 1948) and Robert Clarence Abercromby (3 June 1884 - 9 December 1961), both also became artists.

Art[edit]

In 1869 she exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy her works: The Bagpiper and The Favourite Kitten.[1]

In 1888 she exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy her work: Our Boys.[2]

Death[edit]

She died on 22 April 1913 in Edinburgh at Morningside Asylum. The value of her estate was given as £139 and 3 shillings.
