Joseph Brown (2 February 1867 - 1923) was a Scottish painter.[1]

Life[edit]

His father was James Brown (born c. 1842), a glassmaker from Edinburgh.

His mother was Agnes McLeod (4 June 1843 - 19 March 1886) from the Gorbals, Glasgow. James and Agnes married on 29 April 1864 in Glasgow.

Joseph Brown was born on 2 February 1867 in Bathgate.

He married Agnes (born c. 1858) from Inveresk, on 12 December 1893 in Musselburgh.

They had a son James McLeod Brown (born c. 1896) in Edinburgh.
