Arthur Sced Christie (6 February 1862 - 27 March 1951) was a Scottish painter.[1]

Life[edit]

His father was Thomas Christie (3 August 1822 - 5 July 1866), a language teacher from Glasgow.

His mother was Anna Marie Galafres (1831 - 13 January 1912), a music and languages teacher from Berlin, Prussia.

Arthur Sced Christie was born on 6 February 1862 in Edinburgh.

He married Mary Catherine Cuthbertson (21 March 1863 - 17 July 1934) from Penicuik. Arthur married Mary on 19 June 1890 in Springfield, Rothesay.

He became a music teacher and organist in Rothesay.[2]

He died on 27 March 1951 in a nursing home in Lasswade, Midlothian.[3]
