Arthur Vivian Couling (13 November 1890 - 12 July 1962) was a Scottish painter.[1]

His father was Samuel Couling (September 1859 - 15 June 1922) from Clerkenwell, London, England.
His mother was Charlotte Eliza Sutton (18 August 1860 - 12 February 1947) from Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.
Arthur Vivian Couling was born on 13 November 1890 in Shandong, China. He had two sisters.
The family was brought up in Scotland and Arthur went to school in Edinburgh.
