Jessie Davidson (11 January 1879 - 18 June 1945) was a Scottish painter.[1]

Life[edit]

Her father was William Davidson (25 October 1857 - 29 April 1938), a carpet designer from Glasgow.

Her mother was Eliza Ann Fairley (11 July 1857 - 4 February 1947), a milliner from Glasgow. William and Eliza married on 25 June 1895 in Seyton Avenue, Langside, Glasgow.

Jessie Fairley Davidson was born on 11 January 1897 in 286 Allison Street, Glasgow, the couple's only daughter.

Art[edit]

She attended evening classes at the Glasgow School of Art from 1916 to 1920. She won a Haldane bursary of one guinea (21 shillings).[3]

Death[edit]

She died suddenly on 18 June 1945 at 1 Highburgh Drive, Burnside, Rutherglen. The funeral was at Rutherglen cemetery on 21 June 1945.[4]
