Jane Wilhelmina Ross (12 December 1855 - 19 October 1941) was a Scottish painter.[1]

Life[edit]

Her father was Thomas Ross (c. 1812 - 26 September 1895), a merchant from Edinburgh.

Her mother was Susan Graham Hogg (21 June 1813 - 13 June 1885), from Edinburgh. Thomas and Susan married on 8 July 1838 in Edinburgh.

Jane Wilhelmina Ross was born on 12 December 1855 in Glasgow.

Art[edit]

She exhibited three times at the Royal Scottish Academy. In 1884 she exhibited her work Oddments; in 1885 Strawberry leaves; and in 1886 Bagwort.

Death[edit]

She died on 19 October 1941 at Tigh Bheag in Abernethy. Her usual residence was noted as 18 Oakfield Terrace. The death certificate states she died of myocardial degeneration.

She stayed at 18 Oakfield Terrace with her sister Jessie Ann Fraser Ross who died on 30 July 1932 in Moffat.[7]
