Francis Wighton Flint (31 July 1851 - 23 December 1902) was a Scottish painter.[1]

Life[edit]

His father was William Flint.

His mother was Marion Small (born c. 1823), a furrier from Edinburgh. William and Marion married on 5 January 1847 in Edinburgh.

Francis Wighton Flint was born on 31 July 1851 in Edinburgh.[2]

He married Jane Purves (c. 1854 - 22 September 1935) in Edinburgh. They married in 1878.

Their two sons William Russell Flint (4 April 1880 - December 1969) and Robert Purves Flint (22 November 1883 - 1 March 1947) both became artists. They also had a daughter Charlotte.

Art[edit]

He was a watercolour artist and designer.[3]

Death[edit]

He died on 23 December 1902 in Edinburgh. His usual address was 9 Rosefield Place, Portobello. He is buried in the Grange cemetery in Edinburgh, plot A 224.
