William Forrest (26 May 1805 - 15 October 1889) was a Scottish painter and engraver.[1]

His father was Richard Forrest.
His mother was Janet. Richard and Janet married on 3 December 1790 in Ratho.
William Forrest was born on 26 May 1805 in Burnwynd.
He married Lilias Stewart (c. 1810 - 10 May 1892) on 10 November 1832 in Ratho.

He died on 15 October 1889 in Edinburgh. He was buried on 18 October 1889 in St. Cuthbert's churchyard, Edinburgh. His usual address was given as 17 Archibald Place, Edinburgh.
