Everett Galloway (21 June 1890 - 17 May 1974) was a Scottish artist.[1]

Life[edit]

His father was William Galloway (c. 1853 - 8 June 1938) from a damask designer from Belfast, Ireland. He also was an artist and later exhibited his work alongside his son.

His mother was Agnes Hosie Tannahill Brown (16 June 1864 - 16 February 1956) from Dunfermline. William and Agnes married on 10 June 1889 in Dunfermline.

John Everett Galloway was born on 21 June 1890 at 46 Woodhead Street, Dunfermline.

By the age of 20, Everett moved to Ireland, and in 1912 his name was on a covenant asking for Ulster and Ireland to be ruled by the Westminster government.

His parents then stayed in Northern Ireland, but Everett moved to Perthshire.

Everett married Ethel Mary Leahy Squires (c. 1917 - 3 July 1993) from Charlton in Lancashire, England. They married in Dundee in 1966.

Art[edit]

He was exhibiting with his father at a studio at 44 Wellington Place in Belfast in 1918.[2]

He exhibited at the Perth Exhibition of 1960.[3]

Death[edit]

He died on 17 May 1974 in Callander, Perthshire. A number of his works were obtained by the Vaux Trust on his death.[4]
