Summary[edit]
This shloka is from the Pramanasangraha, a 8th-century Jain composition authored by Akalanka. This shloka is commonly used in Jain inscriptions. This shloka can be understood as: the most respectful, the most beautiful symbol of the syadvada doctrine, an inscription of the lord of the three worlds, and an inscription of the Jains. This is most likely a boundary stone installed to indicate lands donated to a Jaina monk or a Jaina Basadi. Within tens of meters of this Mukkode stone with an inscription are some eight other similar Mukkode stones, but none of them has any inscriptions.
