East Turkistan National Freedom Center

Established in 1996 by a group of East Turkistani Uyghur patriots, East Turkistan National Freedom Center (ETNFC) is a tax exempt, from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3), political organization. Donors can deduct contributions they make to (ETNFC) under IRC Section 170. Located in Washington DC, the primary mission of ETNFC is to educate the global community about China’s occupation of East Turkistan and to ultimately raise the cause of freedom and independence of the people of East Turkistan. East Turkistan is also known as Xinjiang, meaning “New Dominion” in Chinese and has been under the illegal occupation of Communist China since 1949. ETNFC engages in grassroots advocacy and lobbying to US government officials and policymakers on the situation of East Turkistan. ETNFC also engages in educational outreach to the American public by developing contacts with the press about our story, fostering alliances with like-minded groups and individuals, and sharing our culture with all who may enjoy it. Directed and chaired by several East Turkistani Uyghur freedom fighters including Anwar Yusuf Turani, Hussain Qari Islami, and Abdulqadir Ahmad Turkistanis, ETNFC is considered to be the first entity ever established in the U.S. focused on the plight of Chinese occupied East Turkistan.[1]
