Forensic Risk Alliance (FRA) was founded in 1999 by former investment bankers Toby Duthie and Frances McLeod, and forensic accountant Greg Mason.

In 2018 FRA expanded its US presence by opening offices in Texas, Philadelphia and New York. The number of employees increased by 58% in 2017 and revenue increased by 45%.
