About Me[edit]

Tool of the trade

My user name, Anson2995 is an inside joke. It's a reference to the disputed hit total for baseball Hall of Famer Cap Anson.

I have written or edited 14 books on the history of sports, primarily professional football and baseball.

Most of my Wikipedia contributions have been to entries for sports figures, particularly significant sports writers. I have also contributed to entries for people and places in my hometown, and other topics with which I am acquainted.
