SimilarTech is a competitive intelligence and lead generation tool founded in 2013 by the creators of SimilarWeb. SimilarTech is a comprehensive website profiler and analysis tool that provides business insight through crawling millions of websites in order to gather data on the technologies and tools being used in real-time. SimilarTech aids in lead generation by finding potential customers for web companies. It does this by profiling websites, including details like category, geography, web traffic and technology usage.[1]

SimilarTech began as a side project for two software engineers at SimilarWeb, Yaniv Hadad and Eyal Weiss. As the project grew it was turned into a separate company but still receives website traffic data from SimilarWeb in order to offer a unique level of market segmentation. As of June, 2016 the company is out of beta and being used by clients such as Google, PayPal, Facebook, and Amazon.
Technology Lookup And Lead Generation[edit]
SimilarTech allows you to perform website technology stack searches in order to spot trends, research the market, and generate leads. The tool can provide a list of technologies used on a particular website, track a specific technology's use throughout various websites, or track and list an entire category of technologies. Technology alerts and actionable data are also provided to allow a business to be notified of changes in technology use in real-time. The tool allows a client the ability to look up specific technologies and gain a deeper understanding of the website in question through detailed data profiling, mining, and segmentation. Over 100M websites are fetched and analyzed on a daily basis to keep the information relevant and up-to-date.
