General characteristics |
Hermania was the name of a Dutch schooner that was discovered adrift off the Cornish coast in 1849, sans masts and crew.[1]
The ships Captain, his wife, child and crew were missing. The lifeboat was still in place.
Later career[edit]
The ship was captured by the Fylla off the Oder Banks, while attempting to run the blockade on May 1, 1864. She was eventually released and let proceed to Koblenz.[2]
In fiction[edit]
The ship is mentioned in Castle Falkenstein (role-playing game). The reason given for the disappearance were mermaids.[3]
