Hello, Bakasuprman/Archive1, and welcome to Wikipedia! I am Deepu Joseph (a.k.a. thunderboltz). Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

User Stuff

My IP is down right now thanks to some "racist remarks" some person posted from my IP. I looked at said remarks and saw a clear bias in the way the block was made. The blocker & blockee seem to have some issues.Bakasuprman Bakaman Bakatalk 02:54, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Beteille

Homplease, I don't think that you realize that I'm related to Andre Beteille and therefore am a primary source of information, including his religious preference. Bakaman%% 22:16, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

I didnt see this. Please note that your claim to be related to Prof Beteille, while deeply fascinating, is irrelevant. Please cite your claim, provide a letter from Prof Beteille stating his religious beliefs or it will be deleted as WP:OR. Hornplease 01:29, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Blockage Issue

My IP is blocked for some reason. It said 48 hours, I checked the log for User:Bilbobaggins8 and it said he was blocked for 48 hours. Its been 48 hours and now my IP is STILL blocked. Than you for your time. Bakaman%% 22:21, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your edit in Witzel's article

Hello, sir. I saw your edits in Witzel's article and wanted to thank you. I was planning to do the same basic edit ,that Witzel had no knowledge of Talageri's work (I am am member of the Indology forum of his and have seen him backpedal on this issue there in the past), but got busy.
I am currently engaging in a debate/borderline-edit-war/shouting-match on the 2002 Gujarat Violence article with three editors that are loading it against Hindus and presenting a biased picture. One of the editors,Lkadvani, has been engaging in Quote Mining from articles on the issue and presenting a biased perspective, which I have been trying to neutralize with some small success. He is also known to make pejorative remarks against Hindus (especially Brahmin Hindus) in various talk pages and touts Christian missionary propaganda on his user page.Wikindian and Haphar and Rushdie are presently ganging up here in an attempt to discredit Indologist Koenraad Elst whose legitimate opinions on the matter(s) in question have been placed in the article by me in order to present a balanced perspective on this issue. Unfortunately, it looks like they're getting ready to mass-revert the article, and I would appreciate any input you may have to offer on this subject and your assistance in monitoring this highly resonant article for bias. Thank you. Netaji 02:29, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Andre Beteille

Please do not add Category:Hindus to the article without citing your addition. I have seen no evidence of Prof. Beteille's religious affiliation. Thanks. Hornplease 22:25, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Also see my reply above. Thanks. Hornplease 01:30, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Arjun Singh

Please cite your repeated additions to the article with references in the mainstream press that indicate that Mr. Singh has called Islam 'secular', Hinduism 'communal', and has described himself as 'anti-Hindu'. Hornplease 22:33, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

2002 Gujarat Violence again

I am presently engaged in an involuntary revert war with Lkadvani in the article, who is loading it with garbage statements unrelated to the Godhra incident. I do not want to violate 3RR rule so I'd appreciate if you'd revert his reverts back to the original version on which we both (presumably) agree. Thank you.Netaji 22:46, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
I am having serious problems in the Gujarat Violence article. Users Lkadvani and rushdie have added extremely racist and pejorative remarks in an irrelevant section. Please help me revert the article from their repeated blatant vandalism. Thank you.Netaji 12:11, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Please note that a large number of your recent changes have been to pages on my watchlist. I have a great deal else to do on WP, and following you around and reverting all your changes is too much of an effort. The community will eventually revert all the difficult ones anyway. Hornplease

The Talageri-Witzel catfight

Hi again. Can you find some factual references to support that Witzel has been caught fibbing about reading Talageri? I've thought about looking in google mailing list archives for any emails from him that suggest so, because I think I remember some correspondence there to that effect (masked behind good ol' Witzel's usual insults, pejorations and personal attacks), but got busy with this awful 2002 Gujarat Violence thingie. So it would be great if you could also look into the matter whenever you can get the time. Thanks.Netaji

I think the ref is cited in Talageri's wikipedia article. I've linked to the Talageri article from the Witzel article for now as backing for Talageri's claim.Netaji 23:36, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

In case I get blocked (unlikely)

In the unlikely event that I get screwed, I need you to monitor the articles. BTW I'm contacting the Hindu American Foundation and requesting help from people who are more erudite and knowledgeable in these matters than I am. Just one thing though. I noticed that in your edits you wrote down sentences, but did not cite references to back it up. This gives the "pak" the justification they need to revert your changes. If you provide references and keep the language factual but sanitized and dispassionate, then their reverts will be illegal and they can be reported as vandals.Netaji 04:35, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Subhash is quite right, and it would be great if you listened to him on this. Hornplease 05:40, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Please do not harbour ill will towards other users, even if you've had major conflicts. It is advisable that you remember that we're trying to build an encyclopedia - individual users will come and go, and such feuds don't mean anything. I have told Hornplease and now you that you should make edits to stuff you love and don't keep engaging in contentious POV battles. Anyway, I'm not trying to referee any dispute you may have with Hornplease, so relax. Rama's arrow 03:09, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

A user, Yeditor has been vandalizing the article on Caste with a bunch of gibberish. Plus, he made personal attacks against me in my talk page (called me a Hindu Vandal) and has violated WP:3RR. I have reported him on both grounds, but there will probably take some time for them to take action. So please monitor the article and revert his vandalism (or add your own edits, wahtever you wish). Thanks. Also, watch for the Indian Caste System article (I added some stuff on the muslim caste system there which muslims might try to revert/vandalize). ThanksNetaji 12:48, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

I'll be away

I'm having problems with Borntorebel who has tried to vandalize the Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America article even after I reverted it. I will be going away for the week on holiday (from Sunday 6th to Sunday 12th) so will not be able to monitor him. Once your block gets lifted, please revert his vandalism but DO NOT PROVOKE HIM. For every act of vandalism put a test2, test3 or blatantvandal tag on his talk page. After 3 warnings if he continues to vandalize the article, then go to the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrator_intervention_against_vandalism page and report him, together with diffs of his edits. If he makes personal attacks at you then DO NOT ENGAGE HIM BACK. Simply report him to the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Personal_attack_intervention_noticeboard, ok? If you attack him back the admins will only block you again. Blnguyen is basically a decent admin and you can (politely) ask him to help out on his talk page. Also, contact Dangerous-Boy for help (he is not an admin, but in case you need support). Explain the situation carefully and dispassionately.Netaji 05:52, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Update: Blnguyen has intervened and rules that this is a content dispute and not vandalism (see Borntorebel's talk page). Thus, DO NOT ENGAGE IN A REVERT WAR while I'm gone or else he'll block you and that would do neither of us any good. The best solution is to follow the instructions in the Dispute Resolution Section.
Don't get angry at Blnguyen. He has blocked me before for personal attacks (but he blocked the other guy for longer) and my experience tells me that he is fair and just. He seems like a nice guy overall so interact and dialogue with him and ask him nicely for advise. Ask him to be a third party mediator and, if Borntorebel still mucks about, then follow the steps in the url above and ask for formal intervention.Present your facts and cite references and all that. Post diff links (from the 'compare button' in the history page) to him. Good Luck, and, in the immortal words of Veer Savarkar: "Yashasvi howun yaa".Netaji 06:54, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

WIN

The problem I have with WIN isn't his viewpoints. It's that he's trying to use the Talk page as a debate forum where he can settle the issue for once and for all. Wikipedia is meant to reflect the scholarly consensus, we're not here to actually reach conclusions on controversial theories. I would have no problem if WIN actually added material to the article and sourced it (from real publications, not the amateur websites he always comes up with). In fact, I've been waiting months now for someone to add some good sourced material on the anti-migration perspective to the article. But WIN never almost never edits the article, he just rants on and on on the Talk page. And in fact, he declared on his own Talk page that he won't be happy until the pro-migration perspective is deleted from the article entirely, he's in no way concerned with representing all sides fairly. WIN's not a victim here, he's trying to undermine numerous Wikipedia policies. CRCulver 03:06, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

If you do add material, I beg you to source them from real, printed publications. Most of WIN's info on the Talk pages is sourced only against amateur webpages, usually written in a decidedly unacademic fashion and sometimes with broken English. I'm sure the anti-migration side has some good references out there, and stuff that has even passed peer review would probably even meet the high standards of people like dab. CRCulver 03:18, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
Notice I said printed publications. If the pro-migration side sources from printed publications, and the best the anti-migration side can come up with are websites, it just makes your side look amateur, since in academic fora webpages are still suspected as unreliable. Your university library should provide plenty of printed publications you can source. As I said, I'm sure the anti-migration side has some good printed references, I've even come across a few in the PCT school of linguistics. CRCulver 03:27, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
Yes, I hope you understand that I have no problem with the article being well-balanced and that my criticism of WIN isn't due to his viewpoint, but rather it's due just to his repetitive comments of enormous length on the Talk page (and when editors feel they have to archive the Talk page because it's so long, WIN calls it censorship). CRCulver 03:40, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Anti-Baka Block

The reasons for blocking are given above - lack of adherence to WP:CIVIL and your edits to the Indian Caste System article. Regarding your e-mail:

"User BhaiSaab was vandalizing the page and now I cannot present my case against him. He deleted the Muslim Caste System section (which is not ALL copyrighted). He has refused to contribute to the article even when other users confronted him. He has made personal attacks, and broken 3RR. I request you block him, otherwise he will WikiStalk me and try to revert productive edits made by me."

Requesting an unblock in order to avoid a potential Wikistalk episode is not a demonstration of the evidence of same. If a Wikistalk experience were to occur then you have the bona fides for an editor review. You have been blocked for three hours. Please do not resume vandalism/point-of-view posting/the posting of copyrighted material to Wikipedia when it expires.  (aeropagitica)   (talk)    21:45, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
