Bruno Chalifour, born in Limoges (France) on April 27, 1956. MA (English), Limoges University, 1979. MFA (Photography), SUNY Buffalo (USA), 2001. Ph D (English), Université Lumière-Lyon 2 (France), 2019. Dissertation: "The Landscape of American Landscape Photography, 1960-1990"; supervisor Dr. Jean Kempf. Taught English and Photography in the French school system 1978-1998. Taught photography at Community Darkroom, University of Rochester, Visual Studies Workshop/SUNY Brockport (Rochester NY), SUNY Buffalo, Rencontres d'Arles (France). Photojournalist, art critic, photo-historian (1981-present) published in local newspapers, national and international magazines (l'Echo du Centre (Limoges), Nouvel Observateur, Réponses Photo, Photophiles (France), Culture and Photography (UK), Photofiles (Australia), Ciel Variable (Canada), The Democrat & Chronicle, Afterimage (USA).
