Al Mujahid (Bengali: আল মুজাহিদ) also spelled as Al Mujaheed was an armed militia comprising mostly of the Urdu-speaking immigrant Bihari Muslims in Bangladesh who collaborated with the Pakistan Army and opposed the independence of Bangladesh.[1] Floated by the Jamaat-e-Islami leadership, it directly took part in the massacre of civilian population alongside the Pakistan Army during the Bangladesh Liberation War.[2][3]

Foundation[edit]
