I, Bradley Holmes, am currently a new user to the ever expanding world they call Wikipedia. As a freshman at Georgia Southern University, I have been givin an excellent opportunity to party hard and release the wild side; Ive also been handed the opportunity to become part the Wikipedia network. I have choosen to lead a military lifestyle by enrolling the Army ROTC which will eventually result in my commisioning as an officer upon my graduation. Having said that, I am in no rush to become an Army war veteran just yet. I look forward to establishing strong friendships as a student, recieving the education that I came here for, and occasionally getting into my fair share of college troubles without crossing the line. I live life by the phrase "Do Work Son", which basically means I go ham (exceptionately hard in attempts to accomplish my goals) in life in general
What Ive brought to the table[edit]
I have participated in an English Composition assignment in which we create or develop articles almost from scratch. I have made many edits on the stub article Saint Marcellina. I have just recently added my Ranger Challenge article to Wikipedia. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Ranger_challenge)
Technology & Me[edit]
I feel that I have an exceptional grasp on technology without actually having the latest and greatest hardwear. I would definately rather check my email than walk outside and check my mailbox. Now-a-days, being technically oriented is almost key to being successful in the university setting. I have no problem with operating standard such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. Im also familiar with various torrent programs and am known to be very proficient on certain dj programs. All in all, technology is nothing new to me and I am confident that my knowledge is enough to at least be useful in the technical world.
Wikipedia? Why Not?[edit]
I find Wikipedia to be an excellent go-to site for quick and easy information. The setup makes it easy to find certain points about a subject that you might not know. Personally I have used Wikipedia to find names and dates for various events. If I had my way, I would allow Wikipedia to be used as a legible resource for academic assignments BECAUSE...it would just be really convenient. However I believe that the pros behind the scenes have managed this site the best way possible and that anyone who is knowledgeable about a notable topic has the right to elaborate in a self created article.
Languages[edit]
I am a native born American, speaking the language of English. I have an impressive two years of high school Spanish under my belt, so I consider my self bilingual(not really).
Whatever you like section[edit]
All jokes aside, I am an easy going person and easy to get along with. I'm interested in the military, sports, working out, etc. My goal at Georgia Southern is to prepare myself for the future while meeting new people and having fun throughout the process. I am the youngest of three brothers who have also gone to GA Southern and have taken the Army route.
