The Dolls of New Albion, A Steampunk Opera is a four act opera written and composed by American composer Paul Shapera, its very first cast performance was done in April 2012 in London and recorded to be released as an album on May 8, 2012 to Bandcamp.
As its name would suggest it is an opera in the steampunk style. Some have considered it to be first ever opera of the steampunk genre[1]
It is the first of the New Albion Tetralogy with its successors The New Albion Radio Hour and The New Albion Guide to Analogue Consciousness also having become cited as examples of their genres, Dieselpunk and Atompunk respectively.
As an album it gained favorable reviews both within the English-speaking world and beyond.
