A Hull (Cornish: Hwel: an underground work) is a type of souterrain found in west Cornwall, in the south west of the United Kingdom. In many ways they are similar to the Iron Age fogous, another type of souterrain found in western Cornwall, however the period of construction of most hulls is believed to date from between the 16th and 19th centuries. Hulls are only found in soils composed of decayed granite, known as growan or growder.
