From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Silo Flow refers to the process through which granular matter contained withing a vertically oriented storage is discharged. This process is of importance in numerous industrial applications involving the handling of grains, powders and geomaterials. In the study of silo flow, parameters of clogging frequency, mass flow rates and flow densities are examined in relation to silo geometry, opening size, grain morphology and ambient conditions.
