Paul Meagher: Paul (32) is stable Supervisor and has been working with John since the age of 19. In Melbourne, Paul accepted the responsibility of being in charge of overseeing all veterinary work done on the horses. In this position, he worked closely with some of Australia’s most respected veterinary surgeons and gained a special insight into keeping horses racing at peak form.
After John relocated to Singapore in 1999, Paul managed the family’s pre-training property in Melbourne, before joining the rest of the family in Singapore in 2004. In Singapore, Paul is responsible for the feed and dietary requirements of all horses. With every horse on a specially designed individual feeding program, Paul’s role is to prepare the feeds and to ensure that each horse’s needs are specifically catered for so that the present to race in absolute peak condition.
Another vital role Paul plays in the operation is to be John’s man in charge at the barriers stalls for trials and races. He is outstanding in this crucial role of educating horses to be calm in the gates. His expertise in this are is invaluable to the stable.
