The 1976–77 Syracuse Orangemen basketball team represented Syracuse University during the 1976–77 NCAA men's basketball season. This season marked the beginning of Jim Boeheim's coaching tenure, a big change from the previous coach Roy Danforth, who had lead the Orangemen to six straight playoff appearances. In Boeheim's first season coaching for Syracuse, the team went 26-4.[1] Syracuse brought in four freshmen that year, including Cliff Warwell and Hal Cohen, and the introduction of Freshman center Roosevelt Bouie and Forward Louis Orr marked the beginning of the "Bouie 'N Louie" show for the Orangemen.[2]
