About me[edit]
White, Anglo-Saxon, British, male, INTJ personality type - yes, although I hold a soft spot for "traits" I am a believer in personality types - traits being the means by which types are described.
For what it's worth since the age of about 11 (I'm now just about 50) IQ testing consistently reports my IQ to be somewhere in the region of 120 to 130. I'm not to sure why I put that in as most IQ tests are rollocks but it's something our American cousins are keen on; anyway considering my personality type I sit within a small group of 1 to 2 percent of the population. Naturally I'd argue the best 1 to 2%, you of course may have other opinions and it goes without saying that I respect your right to be wrong.
All of which makes me ever so special and so near to the current pinnacle of human evolution that I'd be surprised if you didn't daily give thanks for being permitted to bask in my near godlike presence ... thank goodness I'm so modest or I might appear overpowering.
Yes, my sense of humour (please note the spelling!) does take some getting used to, the reality is that I don't take myself at all seriously. Please take me with a pinch of salt.
My interests[edit]
Attempting to be serious for a moment back in the day I was a humanities graduate who was offered post-grad work on developing AI systems - which I declined to spend time having fun instead. However I do have an enduring love of what can be very superficially described as "Philosophy" or "The love of wisdom". With that comes a love of history and politics.
History, British history, political and social; ancient history; military and naval history, theory, practice and technical. The development of the Art of War. I also have minor interests in game theory, wargaming, model making, model engineering, cartography and a few other things besides.
I am though an intellectual gadfly which means that despite my theoretical brilliance, (see above) and my almost overbearing modesty I don't have the application to actually sit down and make use of my gifts, consequently I have to raise my hands to admit that even intellectual pygmies can display much better learning than me and I respect them for that.

Do unto others before they do unto you, failing that I'll fight anyone who can catch me!
No ... seriously, I'm a humanist, I don't believe in invisible sky pixies and it's me who is responsible for my words and actions not some imaginary friend. Which means that despite an admiration for enlightened despotism and a tendency to Machiavellianism I do try to follow the golden rule and urge others to do the same.
