Black Watch Data, founded in May 2009, is a company that manages the risks associated with data in Enterprise Resource Planning implementations and upgrades, and data integrity and security in general. Black Watch Data focusses on those companies that are leveraging SAP AG ERP technologies, across a variety of industries, including telecommunications, financial services, utilities, retail, healthcare and public sector. It offers a suite of products and services to migrate and maintain data through its lifecycyle.

Data Migration[edit]

Recent industry estimates[1] indicate that over 83% of ERP implementations have significant enough data issues to cause cost over-runs and time delays. In 2008, an ASUG Benchmarking Study concluded that "93% of companies experienced 'significant' data issues during their most recent implementation project'. The Black Watch Data application suite and methodology directly address critical data management issues to ensure that a company's data is defect-free and ready for use at key moments in the ERP application lifecycle.

Data Cleansing[edit]

Black Watch Data also addresses the the needs of SAP customers who manage data from multiple systems in heterogeneious environments. On an ongoing basis, Gartner estimates that customer data degrades at a rate of 2% per month and that close to a quarter of the total database is 'lost' every year.

Application Suite and Methodology[edit]

Black Watch Data has created propietary software and leverages SAP and SAP Business Objects tools to create a comprehensive Application Suite. This software enables data to be migrated, integrated, and managed effectively by providing data integrity. Below is a list of phases within the Black Watch Data Enterprise Data Management implementation methodology. The phases are typically performed in a chronological order and work in conjunction with the SAP ASAP delivery methodology.
