Statistical Acronyms: ZAP TAX

Acronyms are used frequently in statistics classes to remind us of steps that need to be performed when running a hypothesis test or assumptions that need to be verified. ZAP TAX is an acronym that is used to remind students to use test statistics using z-scores when performing tests on proportions and to use t-scores when performing tests on means (x-bar). Therefore, the acronym ZAP TAX stands for "Z Always Proportions - T Always Means (X-bar)."
