NYK Starlight is a Panama registered container ship owned by the Japanese company, Nippon Yusen Kaisha. It became famous after the BBC Box traveled on board the ship.

Characteristics[edit]

The NYK Starlight is a container ship built by Japan Marine United Corporation, in the year 1991.^[1] The ship's gross tonnage is 43,227 tons, and a deadweight tonnage of 38,997 tons.^[1] NYK Starlight's length is 251 meters (823.5 ft.), and her breadth is 32 meters (105 ft.).^[2]^[1]
