Kamppi car bombing was a contract killing through a remote car bomb that took place in capital of Finland, Helsinki, on 16 July 2002.

Background[edit]

Motive for the contract killing was deemed to be relationship problems.[1]

Car bombing[edit]

The assassination took place in front of hotel Helka.

The assassination took place in front of hotel Helka [fi] at Pohjoinen rautatie­katu [fi] 23 on 16 July 2002.[2][3]

Aftermath[edit]

Employer of the contract killer was freed under parole on 15 October 2015[4], and the contract killer was freed under parole on 1 March 2016. The third person sentenced for incitement for murder was freed under parole in June 2015.[5]
