Dr. Ashwani Mahajan, Author, columnist, National Co-Convener of Swadeshi Jagran Manch, [1] Associate Professor, Department of Economics PGDAV College is a known name in the field of economics, as author, columnist, speaker and policy interventionist. His publications include Datt & Sundharam Indian Economy (12 editions from 61st to 72nd edition, co-author), Datt & Sundharam Bhartiya Arthvyavastha (Hindi) (6 editions from 50th to 55th editions, co-author). [2] These books are widely read pan India by students, teachers, researchers, policy makers & civil services aspirants and are included in the curriculum of almost all universities in India. He has many more publications including ECONOMETRICS, AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICs, ENVIRONMENTAL ECONOMICS, Encyclopedia Of World economic Crisis Volume 1 & Volume 2 few more. Dr. Mahajan has published more than 400 articles in various national dailies & periodicals including Deccan Herald, The Statesman, Pioneer, The Excelsior, The Economic Times, Business Today, Organiser, Dainik Jagran (Hindi), Rajasthan Patrika (Hindi), Amar Ujala (Hindi), Hindustan (Hindi). He has also published a number of research articles in reputed journals like Mainstream, Indian Economic Almanac & others.

Dr. Mahajan is Chief Editor of Journal of Contemporary Indian Polity and Economy since 2011. Dr. Mahajan is also a Visiting Professor and research guide at Pacific University, Udaipur and Mewar University.

Policy Intervention As National Co-Convener of Swadeshi Jagran ManchConvene he has been instrumental in getting changes in economic policies, by virtue of his in depth study of economic issues faced by the nation. His successful policy interventions include withdrawal of controversial ordinance on land acquisition, [3] getting field trials of GM crops policy revisited, FDI policy of the government especially retail trade, e-commerce etc. [4] etc. He has been guiding the government on the matters of public policy and also the Foreign Trade Policy. As a researcher and activist on World Trade Organization (WTO) and other international trade agreements, he has attended three ministerial conferences of WTO held at Geneva, Bali and Nairobi, as representative of Swadeshi Jagran Foundation, which is a an accredited NGO with WTO.
