The following are the results of the preliminary survey, it concerned mainly on format rather than substance.

Checked what template was used and what details were provided. Factual accuracy was not checked.
- Convention apparent: All four province articles used the {{Infobox Irish Place}} template with the following details: name, gaelige, flag, map, area, and population (& census year).
- Discrepancy: For the Irish names Connacht and Munster use Cúige whereas Leinster and Ulster do not.
- Query: If information contained within the infobox is not mentioned and verified in the main article should the infobox provide a citation for this information?
