Georg Anton is an actor from Austria who mainly works in film and TV productions in China. He is known in China by the name 乔治·安东 or 乔治. Georg Anton first came to China in 2007 and was active in Beijing's English-language thater scene as a member of the Beijing Actors Workshop and Beijing Improv. He was cast in his first major TV role in 2010, playing the American WWII officer Lt. Col. Clare in the Chinese TV serial Suoding Meijun Teshi /The... The story is set during the Sino-Japanese war and evolves around rescuing Georg Anton's character Lt. Col. Clare from the hands of the Japanese army in China. It was shown on national television in China in 2012.
In 2011 Georg Anton filmed principal roles in the TV serial Jue Sha with Luoyong Wang, the movie Qian Xuesen with Aloys Chen Kun, the movie Xin Honghe Gu with Theresa Lee, The TV serial Wuhao Tegong and the made-for-TV film Yima. His TV series Jue Sha started to be broadcast around China on regional TV channels in 2012. in Jue Sha Anton plays an American secret agent in 1940's Shanghai.
Despite being from Europe, he is often cast for portraying Americans. He has been a member of the highly acclaimed Beijing Improv Mainstage English Players since 2008.
