Chris Sholar Chris Sholar, also known as Sholar, or the anomaly, is an American hip hop music producer, guitarist and songwriter.

Sholar is known for his work with Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder and Mariah Carey. In 2001 Chris graduated William Paterson University with a Bachelor degree in music. Later that year he toured with Q-tip (A Tribe Called Quest) as guitarist and musical director. He began perfecting his skills as a budding music producer when he caught the attention of producer Jus Blaze. This gave Chris the opportunity to wrte and record for artists such as Mariah Carey, Jay-Z and Snoop Dogg. Shortly thereafter he began receiving calls to produce European international artists Joy Denalane and Max Herre.

In 2007 Sholar collaborated with Ne-Yo and produced the single “Put it in a Letter” for Mic Little of Def Jam. He also scored music for the motion picture film “Brown Sugar” and TV commercials for New Balance, Adidas, Nike and the Vh1 Hip Hop Honors.

In 2008 Chris co-produced the New York Knicks’ theme song entitled “Go New York” with Q-tip.

In 2011 Sholar was featured in the movie “Beats Rhymes and Life – A Tribe Called Quest Documentary. It premiered at the Sundance and Tribeca Film Festivals with outstanding reviews.
