David Lapin is the CEO of Lapin Consulting International, Inc. (formerly Strategic Business Ethics), a California-based consulting firm with clients around the world that he founded in 1981. He lives in Toronto and travels extensively on lecture tours and consulting projects. He has many years of global speaking experience and has been widely published.

Lapin was born in South Africa to a Jewish family of Lithuanian descent. He is the son of the late Rabbi A.H. Lapin (1912-1991), senior rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregation of Johannesburg, and chief rabbi of the Cape Town Hebrew Congregation and brother of well known Rabbi Daniel Lapin and of Rabbi Raphael Lapin. In 1997, Lapin moved his family and his successful Management Consulting practice’s head office from South Africa to Los Angeles. Lapin Consulting International has offices in Los Angeles, Toronto, and Johannesburg.

Lapin has been active in international business at senior levels for more than 30 years. He studied Business Law, Legal and Moral Philosophy, and Talmudic Logic in the UK and Israel. Before founding his consulting practice, he was the head of the Metals, Minerals & Energy Division of Raphaely International, a global commodity trading company.

He was formerly the spiritual leader of the Pacific Jewish Center, an Orthodox synagogue in Venice, California and of the Keter Torah Congregation in Johannesburg, South Africa, which he founded in 1975 and led until his emigration from South Africa in 1997.
