The Propagator - UK Equity Crowdfunding Platform

The Propagator was founded in 2012 and is a free peer-to-peer investment platform where businesses meet investors.

The Propagator is built on the crowd funding philosophy and has the tools for businesses to raise investment without the need for banks or venture capital. Interactive support services, such as a business plan creator help incubate listed business, catalyze their growth and maximise investor returns.

The Propagator is an alternate investment channel and lays the foundations for a new financial infrastructure needed in the post-crash enterprise economy. If you’re an investor then you can take advantage of the UK government SEIS (Seed enterprise investment scheme ) where up to 50% of the value of investment is returned to the investor through tax breaks when they invest in a business that qualifies.

Equity based crowd funding is a relatively new concept that seeks a high volume of lower value investments normally between £1000 - £10,000, investors not only receive equity in the company they invest in but often additional incentives are offered to investors. Business use the platform tools to create their investment profile and they are then encouraged to share their profile with friends, family and associates initially to start the investment process. The Propagator does the rest. If an investor likes the look of an opportunity listed then they are put in touch with the business via the platform to then complete the transaction.

A completely new relationship between savers and investors on the one hand, and entrepreneurs and businesses on the other, is emerging. Crowd Funding is not simply yet another case of doing away with the middleman. It transforms the global economy from one controlled, channelled and facilitated by the banks, to one enabled to exercise mass democratic capitalistic activity. Savers and investors will have almost infinite choice in storing and using their money, whilst businesses will gain direct access to development funds to fuel their myriad visions. The Propagator aims to be the cornerstone of the new financial infrastructure needed to make it all happen.
