The first season of the superhero drama television series X-Men premiered on Disney+ on November 22, 2017, in the U.S. and concluded on December 27, 2017. It consists of five episodes, each ranging 70 to 130 minutes. The series is based on the X-Men comics, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, created for television by Siddharth Narsipur. Marvel Studios had ordered a full series in November 201; filming began the following year. The first season, which began filming in July 2016, primarily in Los Angeles, with additional filming in London. In March 2017, Marvel renewed the series for a second season which premiered on December 12, 2019.

The story takes place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, across 30 years, exploring the origins of Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr, while later episodes build upon their superhero teams, the X-Men and Brotherhood of Mutants. Charles and Erik, who are known as "mutants" are gifted with the ability of telepathy and controlling metal respectively. Beginning in their childhoods in New Jersey and Germany, they book begin looking for other mutants like them across the world and eventually find each other. Their initial friendship turns into a bitter rivalry as they share differing beliefs on the future of mutanthood - Erik preferring mutant domination and Charles preferring co-existence with humans. Other storylines explore popular comicbook characters such as Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast and Storm - setting up their team up as part of the X-Men. The series' plot includes several references to previous Marvel Studios films' including Thanos' snap in Avengers: Endgame (2019) and the founding of the Avengers in Marvel Studios' The Avengers (2012).

Game of Thrones features a large ensemble cast, including established actors such as James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender. Samuel L. Jackson and Elisabeth Olsen reprise their roles as Nick Fury and Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch respectively. Newer actors were cast as the younger generation of characters, such as Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, and Nicholas Hoult.

In 2003, telepath Charles Xavier travels to Argentina, Brazil and Colombia in order to find more mutants like him, tracking stories and myths. He eventually finds Ororo Munroe/Storm who tells him about another man like him tracking mutants. Charles invites Ororo back to the US but she declines. In 1991, Charles is bullied in school but uses his powers to humiliate Football Team Captain Jonathon Moss. In 2011, Charles watches the formation of the Avengers[1] on television and senses the presence of new mutants all over the world. He travels to S.H.I.E.L.D and recruits Hank McCoy/Beast, a mutant in hiding, to help him in his search. McCoy warns him about various break-ins at similar facilities throughout the last few months. In 1998, Charles is planning on proposing to his girlfriend but hears her thoughts and learns that she is cheating on him. He leaves his hometown in New Jersey and travels on a backpacking trip across Europe, where he meets his first fellow mutant - Erik Lensherr.

In 1987, Erik Lensherr witnesses the death of his father at the hands of an extremist police regime in his hometown of Tyreingard, Germany. He lashes out and kills the police with his powers. In 2008, Erik breaks into a secret facility in North Dakota and finds Juggernaut imprisoned. He frees him and tells him - “A battle is coming”. In Erik uses metal from the Chitauri invasion to create a helmet incase “the other guy shows up”. In 1998, Erik returns to his hometown and kills the mayor Stehl Under, who has poisoned the local water supply. He then meets his first fellow mutant - Charles Xavier.

In 1998, Erik and Charles meet for the first time. They discuss their abilities and how they got them. Charles reveals that he was born with his powers while Erik manifested them after the incident with his father. Charles tells Erik that he can feel more mutants like them and wants to “unite them in some sort of way” as he can only feel pain and suffering from these mutants which blocks his ability to find them. In 2005, a few mutants such as Ororo begin to live at the Xavier Mansion in New Jersey when Erik visits. He has been freeing trapped mutants across the world and forming an “alliance”. Erik wants to use Charles’s help in revealing their presence to the world but Charles tells him that the world isn’t ready. In 2010, Charles and Hank travel to Westview, New Jersey to meet with Jean Grey, a mutant whose parents were recently killed in an accident. Erik also arrives and they disagree on their vision for the future of mutanthood which leads to a fight. Charles uses his powers to overpower Erik and leaves with Jean. In 2017, Charles visits Nick Fury and reveals his newly-formed school of mutants. He also talks about his research into the X-Gene which less than 0.1% of mutants receive. Nick Fury takes Charles to visit Wanda Maximoff who declines his invitation to the Xavier Mansion.

In 2018, Erik visits the Xavier Mansion “in peace” to reveal S.W.O.R.D.’s plans for creating technology capable of detecting the X-Gene in humans. Charles is visibly concerned but half of his students including Jean and Ororo blip away due to Thanos’s snap[2]. In 2022, Charles and Erik have grown closer after the Blip and regularly hold discussion on the future of mutanthood, often while playing chess, which usually ends in disagreement. Erik believes that mutants were given this power to rule over humans while Charles believes that it “a gift” created to help humankind and live alongside them. In 2023, The blipped students return at the Xavier Mansion and Charles restarts the school and Magneto leaves. After New York is attacked by Juggernaut, Charles and a few of his students team up to fight and apprend him. Charles then decides to create the X-Men team to represent Mutants and reveals their presence to the world.

In 2023, The X-Men has replaced the Avengers as the world’s topmost team and have a good reputation among the public. Erik has formed his own alliance, called the “Brotherhood of Mutants”. During the inauguration of the next President, Erik and the Brotherhood attack the event and kill the President-elect and publicly announces a so-called “Age of Mutants”. The X-Men arrive at the scene and battle the Brotherhood. The battle kills Ororo and disables Charles from the waist down but Erik is captured though most of the Brotherhood escape. Public opinion on the X-Men drastically changes and many accuse them of colluding with the previous president, who refused to concede the race.

In a post-credits scene, Charles visiting Erik in prison who claims he predicted this reaction.
