What happened

The obscenity caught is actually contained in the title of one of the tracks on the album the page is detailing. The edit was genuine. The user appears to have been reverting the track listing to its original form as large-scale edits made to the track listing by the previous user were entirely wrong.

This reversion appears to have been an error. I moved a page and the associated talk page in the same action; but for some reason the bot identified the talk page move (and ONLY the talk page move) as possible vandalism and reverted. Seems worth looking into.

(If I had to guess, it had to do with the sequence of actions; the \"move\" process probably created the redirect a brief moment before populating the new page, which somehow triggered the bot.)

Carlyle\'s essay is properly titled \"Occasional Discourse on the Nigger Question\" and NOT \"Occasional Discourse on the Negro Question.\" For better or worse, \"Nigger\" was in fact the word that he used, not \"Negro.\"

I edited the Carlyle article from \"Negro\" to \"Nigger\" since that is in fact the word used by Carlyle. Apparently ClueBot thinks I was vandalizing the article.

You guys have a lengthy article in Wikipedia for the word \"Nigger,\" so how can its use properly be banned when correctly giving the title of Carlyle\'s essay? We\'re not using the word, simply reporting what others have said and written.

Hi,

ClueBot reverted what I think is a solid edit.

The paragraphs I edited were heavily slanted against the politician whose page is in question. They provide a convoluted and highly selective airing of his voting record that painted a picture of the candidate that was not accurate.

The edits graphs contained many statements made \"by his opponents\" with little regard for their veracity. Many other pieces edited out had little to do with the heading of that section of the article (previously \"Budget Accomplishments\"), but were more about the actions of other local politicians in which the candidate in question played only a tangential part.

This particular portion of the Wiki entry also provided unnecessarily granular detail about only a single aspect of the candidate - again painting an unbalanced picture of his record as a legislator.

It was obviously authored by his own disciples and consisted of material directly from their website. I do not wish to disparage their respect for their teacher, but hagiography does not belong on Wikipedia.

What happened

There is something of an edit war starting here - not by me. The edit I reverted was an off-topic synthesis, as far as I can see.

Perhaps the topic needs external input/arbitration?

There was a vandalism or some other mistake earlier, where was added a lot of multiplicated code. Maybe I should to revert it, so bot would not react.

The article is mainly an off-topic copy-and-paste from the Inquisition article, however all attempts to remove the off-topic material have been reverted by ClueBot.

I reorganized a section and accidentally left it copied twice... so I went back in to delete the repetitive stuff and it labelled it vandalism. I\'ve written quite a bit of this section over the years. My intentions are honorable and I was updating research from the AUA 2010 meeting.

The list on this page is a copyright violation; including the entire list is almost certainly not fair use.

The reason was given in the edit\'s summary: Cleanup, fixed neutrality, removed non-credible citations.

Article was being thoroughly cleaned up for neutrality and unsupported claims, and non-credible citations were removed (most of them were not Encyclopedic).

Compare zyclon b to other trademark chemical compounds. There is very little similarity. About half of this article is \'holocaust\' rhetoric. Sure there should be a mention of its use by Nazi Germany but it should not comprise the majority of the article.

Here\'s a link to Wikipedias own article about \'roundup\'.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roundup_(herbicide)

This is what I was expecting when I looked up zyclon b. I did not expect to be subjected to racism and innuendo. Some of the information disseminated in this article is obviously and deliberately false.

example

Thermate is simply thermite with added sulphor. Remove the sulphor and you no longer have the trademark thermate, you have thermite.

Remove the odor element of zyclon b and you no longer have ziclon b, you have a HCN compound.

Of the 27 references listed in this entry for a chemical compound only 4 of them are direct relevant. Of those 4 none of them are really informative. The 23 remaining references are in relation to 1930\'s European socio-polatics.

All I attempted to do is remove the sections that arn\'t relevent.... And Wikipedia is threatening to revoke my account?

Edit was a sizable deletion, but it was not vandalism - the section was in fact a lengthy section of original research, and I reverted it in accordance with policy.

Also - I am an administrator who is currently logged out. I have to say, forcing anonymous and newbie editors to jump through hoops finding arcane ID numbers in order to make useful contributions that enforce policy seems to me an extremely egregious case of biting the newbies. I would ask you to consider whether the marginal gains in anti-vandalism are actually outweighed by the newbie-unfriendliness of this approach.

the novel series in question contains a sexual subplot in every single book. this is soft-peddled in the books that have been reviewed, and ignored in the overview.

Saying \"The villains are invariably evil\" is a redundancy; the villains are almost always rapists, very specifically, besides whatever other bad-guy-stuff they do.

Travis gets laid a lot in these novels. Women who have been raped take healing from his magical lovemaking, women who hate him go to bed with him (and learn he\'s not such a bad guy after all) women whom he dislikes and disapproves of-- sexworkers for instance-- he\'ll take service from them, too.

There are no obscenities in my rewrites.

Check my comment. I was cleaning up someone else\'s vandalism; the document had basically been triplicated with segments of references chopped in half and scattered throughout the page.

I compared the duplicated sections to glean and preserve unique information so no content would be lost.

Please review the article history to confirm this statement. RobH.
