Willo Perron is a Creative Director and Designer currently living in Los Angeles, CA.  Born in Montreal, Canada, Perron has worked across a wide variety of disciplines and industries.

Over the last decade Willo Perron has contributed significantly through both creative direction and design roles to the brand image and development of companies and talents as diverse as Kanye West, American Apparel, Apple, Lady Gaga, Nike and many more.

Willo began his career in the Montreal music, nightlife, and street wear industries.  In 1993, Perron launched the Fat Beats-distributed record label Audio Science with Alain (DJ A-Track) and David Macklovitch (of Chromeo).


Creative Direction

Since 2007, Perron has been working as Creative Director with Kanye West, with whom he has collaborated closely on the visual and experiential aspects of West's work – from album art, to tour narrative/concept, individual live performances and events, brand and artist collaborations, and more.[1]

In 2009, Perron worked as creative director with Lady Gaga, on several seminal performances and in the creation of some of her most iconic imagery and content.  The collaboration spanned projects such as the Monster Ball Tour, performances at the American Music Awards and X-Factor, a private performance for the Queen of England, content creation with Nick Knight, and much more.[2]


Retail Concept & Design

Perron has worked in retail concepts and development for over ten years, having owned and built audio equipment and record stores in Montreal from the late-90's, before going on to play an integral role in the launch of the American Apparel retail chain, which would become the largest and most aggressive store rollout in retail history.

Working together with a small group, Perron conceived the American Apparel retail program, opening the first store in Montreal in 2003, before going on to push the rollout worldwide.

Previously, Perron was owner and designer of the Canadian shoe stores Good Foot.

Additionally, Perron has designed retail programs and physical spaces for clients such as Apple, Steven Alan, Stussy, and more.[3]


Graphic Design

Perron began in graphic design as a teenager when he would create designs for club/party flyers and t-shirt designs.  He has been involved in the art direction and design of album art 1997 when he began as an art director at Rawkus Records.  Notable works include Reflection Eternal's "Train of Thought", Chromeo's "She's In Control", and Kanye West's "808's & Heartbreak".


Apparel

In the late 90's, Perron filled creative direction rolls in Los Angeles for the hugely influential skate/snow apparel brands Droors Clothing and Dub Brand Weathergear, and continued to work in and around the skate/snow apparel market for several years.

Perron launched his own leather line, under the name of Invisible Tailors in 2008.[4]
