CITEF Cyber Range (commonly referred to as CITEF CR, or simply as CITEF) is a Next Generation Cyber Range created by RHEA Group for cybersecurity simulation and training services, through a virtual cybersecurity training environment. It is mostly specialized in critical infrastructure and space technologies, although it supports as well office and other IT environments.

CITEF is an acronym for "Cyber Integration, Test and Evaluation Framework".

The technology had born under the European Space Agency's ARTES 4.0 program, to produce the CSCE - Cyber Security Centre of Excellence and supporting technologies project [1], and the first version was completed by 2020.

History[edit]

CITEF had born as a ESA funded project to continue the ESA Cyber Range [2], which was a first generation cyber range. The concept of a first-generation cyber range was extended to allow to support for dynamic fast virtual infrastructure deployments and reduce the configuration and deployment time.

Features[edit]

CITEF Cyber Range can run over several on-premise or cloud hosting through IaaS platforms, it supports Cyber Range federation, and it offers a WebGUI interface, supporting drag and drop designs, multi-user sessions, asset libraries ( scenarios, virtual machines, software provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment support), and templates.
