Damson Dragon is a character in a novel I wrote. My name is Paige Roberts (nee Ewing) and I've been in two fields simultaneously for the last 25 years, data management and analytics, and fiction writing. Before that, I was a teacher at the Texas School for the Deaf for six years. I have also been involved heavily over the years in the gaming industry in Austin, Texas, not as a profession, or even as a player for the most part, but in the unusual position of knowing and spending time with a lot of the pioneers of online gaming. As a writer and editor of speculative fiction, I have also come to know a lot of fiction authors and in particular, a fair amount of folks in the comic book and graphic novel industry. I also enjoy participating in SpaceApps challenges, have won one global competition, and another local, so I am a bit of a space geek. The challenges that I did well in were all related to food in space. Being an avid gardener feeds my interest in growing plants in strange places. Having lived briefly in northern Alaska, I understand the on-Earth challenges of food security in remote locations as well.

All of this gives me broad areas of interest and expertise.

I am a sporadic wikipedia editor. I tend to get focused on it for a time, edit a bunch of articles, then wander off and not edit for a while. Any article in any of those areas - data, analytics, technology, data architecture, gaming, fiction, comics, plants, Austin area, authors and game designers, deafness studies, gardening, or space - is something I am likely to edit. Those are the articles I find most interesting to read. I can also usually spot if there are inaccuracies in them. As a writer, I'm especially likely to correct spelling, grammar, typos and such, but beyond that, I frequently update outdated articles whenever I come across them.
