History[edit]

Lucky Voice was started by Martha Lane Fox and Nick Thistleton in the summer of 2003. The idea came as a result of a 20 hour karaoke stint whilst visiting Japan. The first bar opened on 28th June 2005 on Poland Street, Soho. The concept was then taken up by Novus Leisure who incorporated Lucky Voice into some of its Tiger Tiger bars. In July 2007, Lucky Voice Tiger Tiger Manchester opened, followed by Cardiff in August 2008. In the same year Lucky Voice opened a new bar in Islington. In December 2008 Lucky Voice also created an online application. This was followed by makes sing-at-home kits in the form of the Lucky Voice Party Box. In 2009, Lucky Voice’s third bar opened in Brighton.
