A Horizon of Lions is a metaphor used to describe the point at which quantity ceases to increase value, the fear (Value) created by encountering a group of Lions (quantity) does not increase further beyond the point at which the observer can no longer sense and interpret the danger. The metaphor makes several assumptions firstly that the observer is fearful of lions, secondly that the observers is sighted and thirdly that there are no obstructions to the observers field of view before the horizon. The purpose of the metaphor is to demonstrate the point at which fear triggers can no longer have an increased effect, Horizon is used for it's uniformity in audiences minds and illustrative properties which is also the purpose of using Lions as they can be easily quantified and clearly demonstrate physical danger for the observer.
