Clint Dobson
Clint Dobson (July 15, 1982 - March 3, 2011) was pastor of NorthPointe Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas, USA. Dobson was murdered in the church facility of NorthPointe Baptist Church. A suspect was arrested on Saturday, March 5, 2011.[1]

History
Clint Dobson was born to Sharon and Rod Dobson, a cousin of author and radio talk show host James Dobson. He grew up in Clear Lake, Texas near Houston where his family was involved at University Baptist Church. Dobson earned a Bachelor’s degree from Baylor University in 2005 and began his theological studies at New Orleans Baptist Seminary. After hurricane Katrina damaged the school, Dobson transferred to Baylor's George W. Truett Theological Seminary. Dobson remained at Truett where he received a Master of Divinity degree in May 2008. In July, 2008 he married Laura Rozeman of Shreveport, Louisiana, also a Baylor graduate.
Ministry
Clint Dobson served as pastor of rural Purmela Baptist Church during his time at Truett Seminary. Purmela Baptist is about 55 miles west of Waco, TX. Also while in seminary, Dobson co-authored the "Hesed Now" curriculum for youth groups for use in Disciple Now events. In his final semester, Truett Seminary named Dobson the Outstanding Student Preacher. After completing his Master's degree, Dobson became pastor of NorthPointe Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas, a satellite congregation of First Baptist Church of Arlington. Dobson's engaging preaching style and warm personality attracted young people to his ministry. Dr. Dennis Wiles is the senior pastor First Baptist Church of Arlington and chose Dobson to lead the North Arlington congregation. "I've heard lots of student sermons over the years," said Dr. Wiles, who taught Dobson as an adjunct Truett faculty member. "Clint's stood out. He also had a wonderful demeanor. He was very pastoral." Dobson was passionate about the plight of the impoverished. He was involved with Mission Arlington and traveled to Central America and helped to drill water wells in rural villages.
Death
Dobson was murdered on March 3, 2011 in the worship facility of NorthPointe Baptist Church in Arlington, TX. His ministry assistant, Judy Elliot was badly beaten. Dozens gathered at an ecumenical prayer vigil on March 4th to mourn Dobson and pray for Elliot.[2] On February 27, 2011, the Sunday before his death, Dobson's sermon was entitled "The Testimony of the Martyrs" and his sermon text was Acts 12:1-5, "It was about this time that King Herod arrested some who belonged to the church, intending to persecute them. He had James, the brother of John, put to death with the sword. When he saw that this pleased the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This happened during the Feast of Unleavened Bread. After arresting him, he put him in prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring him out for public trial after the Passover. So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him."
